Took the day off, bundled up, and was able to get my cousin to come with me. Got out about 7:30’ish. Windy, choppy, but still a nice day. Pulled into a creek, pulled the boat up on a bank, and caught about 8-10 reds & one short flounder before the tide got too high. All on halfed finger mullet on the bottom form about 8 to 10 am, rising tide.
Hit other spots for both sheep & more reds but no luck. Hard to get boat anchored right with wind going one way, tide going the other, and water (where we were) not shallow enough to deploy my canjun anchor of the stern to hold the boat in place. Ah well, great morning and worth taking the day off.
