Stono inlet

Anyone have any info on how the stono inlet has changed since they did the renurishmen of Folly recently? I heard the sand they replaced has already been swept away and im pretty sure it was dumped in the inlet. I know it changes frequently but I’ve been away at school and haven’t gotten around to finding the way out yet .

Ran through it 4 weeks ago at low tide. Head to the single green buoy, then stay just between the sets of breakers. Saw 2-4 ft of water at low tide.

Gonna be a new island out there soon. How can I claim ownership?

Go out there and plant your flag on it! Mark it with your information like a crab pot buoy! That way someone will know who claims it and who to sue, when something happens on it[:0]

Or where to send the tax bill…

Or, who is going to annex it:wink:

Thanks Stickman. Think rebar will work best to mark the way out, thanks for the advice…

Btw, good news is that it’s only sand out there. No oyster bars, wrecks, rocks to hit. If you bump bottom it’s only some paint if you have a painted prop. Really not a big deal.
Two yrs ago a 60’ sporty ran aground- now that WAS interesting.

About the humblest I have ever felt was heading out from the Stono and seeing that I was in the middle of a horseshoe of 8 ft waves. I turned back until I could follow somebody out.

Not a lot of 8ft breakers in SC in a long time! Let alone on a day you would be headed out of the stono.

More than once going out of Stono with incoming tide and wind, I’ve been at the helm of a 22 cc and could not see over wave tops. I’m 6’tall.
Only once did a crew member ask me if I should be doing this- usually they just smile nervously.
