Went out this morning to soak some bait at high tide and try for a trout on the long rod.
Set up, got bait in the water, when I noticed minnows lumping like crazy next to the rocks. I had the fly rod in my hand so a short 30 foot cast; strip strip, strip, snag. i gave the line a quick jerk to see if I could hop the fly off the snag when
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ</font id=“size5”> the snag took off.
I unclipped from my anchor so I could go for a sleigh ride and hope the fish would stay away from the rocks and docks.
15 minutes later.
chart clouser 1/0, 12 pound tipet, and a 6 wt rod.
