Pulled my crab trap up and found about 30 crabs in it.Had my blue crab bucket ready and dumped about 10 fat crabs in it.The rest were released. My crab bucket has holes drilled in the bottom so i can refresh the crabs every 30 min or so.Keeps them alive all day and can be released if i do not use them.Headed to my trout spot all rigged up with z man, popper DOA,and morning glory.Fished the spot hard for about 1 hour with no action.I waited for the tide to turn and start moving.Fished a creek and still no trout for another hour.Decided to red fish.Hit 3 spots and no reds.Friend bought a house on the Stono and talked with him and he said they were all around his dock the day before.Went to another good dock and settled in.I put out 3 rigs with cut crab and had lunch.Saw several pushes but always to far away.Dumped a little haden milk out and about 10 minutes later a red hit the line.Dave caught his first redfish.Nice fat fish I had a video and will post it on my FB page.7 hours of fishing and 1 red so I called it a day.Released 6 crabs.Water temp was 70 in most spots.Water was nasty everywhere with vis at maybe 3 inches.Wind picked up and was pretty bad.I like to fish 2 hours before low and 2 hours on the rise but decided to fish the high falling. The Redfish was caught 2 hours into the rising tide just as the water reached the grass line.
That’s good hard fishing. I passed you yesterday and was wondering if I was the only one fishing hard with zero results. We put in at limehouse around 0645, talk about a beautiful ride! we fished trout tricks(3 different colors), more z man baits, gulp alive on 3 different rigs. absolutely nothing. anchored up on the river reef and caught some fat whiting on frozen clams. still a great day but I regret not heading offshore to the nearshore reef. My hesitation to head out was caused by lack of fiddlers. Oh well, it was a gorgeous day on the water.

17’ Mako
it is probably called something else but its just some concrete almost in front of the sol legare landing. 20-24’ of water. it will show up on your gps.

Good to hear about the crabs, my wife is dying to go crabbing.

Good stuff Stonoman! All the crabs we caught Saturday were prego so they went back swimming!

I fished the Stono today and Sunday and had similar luck, only caught a few trout on small paddle tail swimbaits each day. Haven’t found the redfish lately. Fished docks with fresh cut mullet and crab with nothing.
The docks behind stonoferry are loaded with reds.Fish the dock with the Sea Ray up on a lift. Good luck.

Generous report. Thank you.
