Hit the Stono yesterday around noon. Cold and windy. But fishing was great. Got plenty of bait shrimp easily since the tide was out, and headed for some docks to catch redfish. Water temps were down 6-7 degrees from Monday, at 62-63. Several docks produced nice fish, but I still lost more than I landed. There are some big fish that put the hurt on 4k size spinning reels. Dock fish caught on shrimp and freshly quartered blue crab chunks.
After the tide came back in I hit some of my high tide spots and found lots of hungry redfish. Caught 18-22" fish on basically every cast for a while. Shrimp under a popping cork did it. Struggled with artificial lures though, I threw everything at them but no takers. As soon as a live shrimp was out, it was game on. Landed over 15 redfish, all released.
Fish of the day was this healthy 23" that I caught off a dock. Took me a minute to realize that he was missing an eye! First for me.
