Decent day fishing on the Stono despite the wind. Went to spot #1 at around 2 p.m., fished for about twenty minutes with no luck, so moved to spot #2. Lots of fish driving bait and mullet jumping. Floated some mud minnows on popping corks around some structure and weeds, and on the third cast caught a nice 20 inch red. Released, rebaited, and immediately had a massive hookup with a monster drag-screamer that had to be 30 inches+. Unfortunately the fish broke me off on a dock and I lost my rig which was a real bummer. Rebaited and a few casts later caught a nice 14 inch trout. After the trout, the bite slowed due to dead high tide and unforgiving wind. Went to spot #3 and kept on getting my bait robbed by rat reds, and later went to spot #4 which produced no bites at all. Reluctantly called it a day afterwards. Overall a fair fishing day.
