Stono River Fishing Club Trout Tournament

We left the dock at 8:30 loaded with plenty of fat minnows. We headed South on the ICW to My high tide spot for trout. The air temp was maybe 47 and the wind was howling out of the North East. Not the best day to be on the water. After a 20 minute cold ride We power poled down in 4 feet of water and started throwing grubs and set out a float with a live minnow. An hour later the minnow was still swimming around and my arm was tired of throwing grubs of all makes and colors.I knew then it was going to be a tough day chasing Trout.Water temp was 55.6 and clear to 2 feet.I talked with two other guys fishing with pop corks and a DOA and they said they had 2 trout. We continued to work several baits when Joey (Age 13) hooked a 14 inch keeper on a pop cork DOA rig.One more hour working hard and We left for Penny creek. We stopped at several choice spots and no results.Penny Creek results were terrible.I had one hit and lost it and that was the fishing report for the day.Eric came in the creek with no fish and went to the back of the creek and caught a 16.5 for first place money.Joey came in second and won a rod and reel.Still a great day fishing with great ■■■■■■■■■■■■ at My dock at 5pm.:stuck_out_tongue:

Good job as always, Joe. Glad all is well.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”
