Stono Shrimp Monday 10/21/13

Went out Shrimping in the Stono. Started about 6pm, left about 10:30. About a 1/4 cooler with some good size to them. Only baited once, my net thrower and I both had to go to work in the am, or we would have re-baited and kept at it.

Had a great time, only my second time doing it in my little Starcraft, this could get addictive!

Theres nothing like the "Smell" and sounds of the creek. Its not just one thing that makes it familiar..its all of it.

never here reports from there - towards the inlet, wad sound, or top area?

Below the sound. Technically not Stono. Seen several shrimpers within a few miles below Limehouse, but those are smaller, don’t eat a lot of salad so I don’t need those!

I have a 16ft star craft powered w/ a 60. Best boat I have shrimped out of yet…

mhebbard,I have always shrimped in Wadmalaw Sound mainly cause I can be there from the house in 15 minutes. Shrimp here are always mixed up and from what I read on here, generally smaller than BB or the harbor. I went last Thursday night, 40 throws and had about 1/2 cooler of small&mediums which is about average here.

You can’t catch fish on a dry line
