Worked the last 2 hours of the outgoing this morning throwing artificials along the bank with my son and a coworker. As soon as I lowered the trolling motor we saw 30+ reds moving around, but not eating. We actually came back to the school later in the day and they still had lockjaw. Continued down the bank missing a couple reds and a flounder while putting two 18" trout and a 17.5" flounder in the boat.
Picked up and ran to a trout spot at the turn of the tide which ended up making a liar of me; no trout! However we caught two 4 foot bonnetheads on free lined jumbo shrimp. Actually I think we caught the same one twice, but my son is sure his fish was bigger.
Back to the reds and landed a 25" fish and my friend lost around a 30" fish under the boat. It was one of those day where we could of caught more reds if we stayed put and worked areas harder, but I like covering a lot of water.
Water in the river and out to metal trades was really dirty for this time of year. Otherwise it was a beautiful day on the water.
