My one day fishing this week, and the winds just would not stop! It was so strong, I couldn’t even get a consistent anchor set! Kept at it for over 5 hours, looking for a spot out of the wind…couldn’t find it and couldn’t find any fish…unless you count sting rays!!
How’d every one else handle the wind today?!
man I was out on cosgrove and wind was blowing like crazy my lure wasn’t going no where but the side lol
I am with you! My trolling motor can last 2 days on a charge. I was running it so hard in the wind I almost killed it on Sat. Sun we caught some early (trout trick/opening night). Then the wind showed and ran the motor down again. Bad when you are running at 80% to move about half a mile and hour!
I mowed the grass and knocked out a few more items on the long list of to-do’s
Yeah, wind was ridiculous on Saturday. Apparently, the fish don’t like it either because they were not active. Like Apicket, I didn’t bother on Sunday and instead worked the to-do list to free up time this coming week.
Keep on castin’
Seems every year the wind blows more and more…longer and longer. I’m guessing early-mid June before it lays down some?

I went out saturday and sunday afternoon on the wando. Instead of looking for spots out of the wind, I hit my spots that the wind/tide were going in the same direction. Then I anchored further off the spot than I normally would and used the wind to make a nice long cast…since the wind and tide were in agreement, the boat hardly moved. Fishing was good, over slot reds and trout on popping cork/mm…reds were on the carolina rigged rod set out with fresh cut mullet.
