stopped up

All ya’ll; Like just about everyone else in the world I have a Yamaha F150. I took the boat off the life and took it to a safe place before hurricane Florence. I decided to leave it there until things calmed down in the Atlantic. Well I got the boat back yesterday and as always it ran like a top. EXCEPT there was no water coming from the tell tell pee hole. I pulled the hose off the top of the engine block and had water shooting 10 feet behind the boat. After a little looking I found what looks like some type of heat exchanger in the water line leading to the pee hole. It is labeled water on one side and fuel on the other. I plan to put some compressed air on the thing in the AM and try to blow it out. I don’t like to play around with a chance of mixing water and gas. Ya’ll know anything about this thing? Should I try to unstop it or buy a new one.

PS I did stick a wire up as far as I could. No help.

Thanks in advance!

that is a fuel cooler.
blowing air through it is perfectly acceptable.

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

Thank you sir!

Well this morning I strung up 150 feet of air hose and ran the compressor up to 70 psi. Pulled off the hose at the top of the engine block and gave the fuel cooler a shot of air. What ever was in that fuel cooler shot out like a bullet. All is well with the world.

Chris V, YOU THE MAN!

Thanks
