Straight Out Saturday on The Pi - with pics

nice report cool pics
was a nice day i was in Charleston fishing the kings for veterans
tournement. Pretty much stuck to the cans in the shipping channel but all day looking out over a flat ocean and wondering what the fishing was like out in the deep blue. I had never fished there before and enjoyed the craziness which is the mosguito fleet on a flat day outside the jetties. Saw the old man in the sea fighting what must have been a big shark out of a dingy i mean maybe a ten foot dingy around the third set of cans . He was alone standing up in this thing pulling for all he was worth. Saw him a little while later just sitting there drinking a beverage. don’t know if he won that fight or not but sure was whooped hehehe.
As for me, I took a vet and his wife onboard who had never king fished before. It was slow but we had some knock downs and screamers and finally got one to stick and the rookie female did excellent and we boated a 17.9lb king fish. Her first and the only one of the day.It placed second in female angler class. He hooked up and boated a large shark so got to turn the reel for awhile.
Good time and great cause for a tourney-- hope we get more boats and more vet participation next yr.
Again congrats on your day

Good for you, Rick! Bet you ended the day with lots of “warm fuzzies” from that experience!
