straightish out saturday

Finally got out for a great day on the pond. Started getting bait at the edisto buoy then put lines in to troll in 130 feet. Right off the bat put a 35lb wahoo in the boat then tunny, tunny, tunny, 20 lb king, tunny, peanut mahi, sail. At 11 decided it was time to use the bait we had caught and filled up the box with an 18lb scamp, 6 limits of monster vermillion and a bunch of triggers and red porgies. Seas started ok and got nicer all day for a flat ride home. Thanks to the folks at Haddrells for the staying shallow tip!

Great job, will get out next week for a couple charters, can’t wait

Magezzi,
Did you stop at 130 ft. for the temp. break and flyers and birds? We drove by that going with the gut that it was too shallow. Dropped baits in 180’ immediately lost a Wahoo on the planar. Worked some numbers with no action and trolled on out to the deep. Put 2 Wahoo in the boat around 250’. Went to 350’ and then back to 160’ where the “spotted hoos” devoured our baits like a school of dolphin. Six gaffers released. Purple/Black was the color of the day.

Battle, we had most activity between 130 and 156’ with the peanut in 184. Temp break was around 130’ (82.3-83.5)for us. On the way in we tried popping for tunny busting bait in 120’ and saw a decent sized mahi none of whom would bite. We also grabbed a half dozen moon jellies from the same area for the aquarium. Pics of booty below.
