Striped Bass Challenge

If this was a private conversation then it should of been held in private. Exactly like I said. This outward bad mouth of these tournaments and their committees is what will destroy them. Who I am has nothing to do with how you act.

This is why tournament trails have failed in the past. People want to throw stones from the outside but never offer up any real solution or help. SBC directors have spent countless hours trying to do the best they can. The tournaments have been really good for the most part. Both of them. Instead of getting upset or lashing out how about asking what we can do to help make things better. I know some of these people personally and to accuse them of bribing someone or taking a bribe is a flat out lie and slap in the face. As a competitor I would love to see every show up and have a great time, but if all your gonna bring is drama then please stay at home.

Here we go again … let me point it out - yet again - for you … you’re the one who said that Anderson paid … I believe your exact words were “… Go talk to your elected officials. Tell them to pay up like Anderson did.” …

Your own statement implies something more than average occurred in order to get the SBC to go to / stay on Hartwell …

My “choice” of words was (a) in response to your initial statement and (b) ADMITTEDLY a poor one …

Can we friggin move on now??? Is that good enough for you?? Or did you miss the point I was ACTUALLY trying to make with regard to that statement which was: Anderson County “working” to convince the SBC to go to /stay on Hartwell is NOT what made them go there … TWICE …

AGAIN, rather than admit even the “possibility” that the SBC could do more / make more / grow more on ANY other lake EXCEPT Hartwell all you are attempting to do is spin the situation into an attack on YOU … Are you serious right now??

FACT:

YOU came on here making jabs at those of us in the conversation …

FACT:

YOU are NOTHING to the SBC … You do NOT speak o

I am trying to find in the conversation who said anything about Anderson paying anything…Seems RD said it first…so don’t accuse us of saying Anderson did anything with money. They have donated alot of their time and infrastructure and that means alot to the SBC. I am good friends with many of the board members as well and I truly believe nothing illegal has happened…so let’s just stop all that talk.

The point of this discussion was why it doesn’t fill up. Not why it wont come back to Murray. It’s obvious the Murray community doesn’t care to have it nor do the fisherman. It’s not really that big of a deal to the lake. Like I said I will fish it anywhere, And if you have such great Intel then you should already know of the future plans of the tx (if it stays running) and should make sure you got good tires on the truck/trailer:wink: but anyway like I said We gave reason as to why Murray was a better location for the tx, not why it needs to come back.

You came in guns a blazing shooting us down like we were trashing the tx and it’s people. I will agree with some of what Rick said mainly in part that the board did not listen to it’s anglers when polled. That left a bad taste in alot of people’s mouths, but I understand why they did what they did and I have no issue with it… But people can’t be upset when a bad turnout occurs when they do the opposite of what the majority was asking for.

Last thing. NSBA didn’t die because people couldn’t get their way and people throwing stones…come on man…there are 2 stories of why it died (I won’t put more dirty laundry out there) and neither was "because people couldn’t get their way) AND…Lake Norman striper club :stuck_out_tongue: come on man, do they even exist anymore? If they do, I apologise for that comment. But I haven’t heard that club named in who knows how long, and how long ago was it putting 100 boats in a club tx?

I am done with this conversation. The more talks that happen like this the worse it looks for the tx, and I do enjoy fishing it each ye

Per an email that I received from the SBC, as of ~9:30 this morning, there are 118 registered. They have been having some issues with the website so they extended the registration until midnight Friday, Nov. 3.

As for the rest … I am more than willing to discuss all of your other points - real solutions - how to make it better - how to make it grow …

I have spoken with people within the SBC organization when they were trying to get it started and going on Murray …

I, like you, know some of the names behind the scenes …

I have defended the SBC when outsiders attacked the trail and the methodologies used for the tournament … I have been banned from other groups for defending the SBC against these attacks …

So I find it equally offensive when someone who I do not know, and who refuses to let me know who they are, wanders onto a discussion board and starts making personal attacks against those making statements the critique [insert subject type here] …

TX trails aren’t only killed by infighting … they are killed for a variety of reasons including but not limited to being too insular and refusing to think outside the box …

The points that were made before you wandered on here were and are valid points - you chose to take it upon yourself to “defend the honor” of an organization you are not - or refuse to admit that you are - affiliated with …

As such, your points/arguments/statements/attacks are just as specious as the rest of this conversation …

Now - if you’re done with the silliness and want to have a “REEL” conversation, then I’m your guy … I can obviously hold a conversation and have the available time (not really - but you started it soooooooooooooooooo …   ) to discuss it so how about it?

I can start over … Hi, my name is Rick and I’m an a$$hat … errrrr … no … Hi, my name is Rick … [insert handshake emoji here] … What’s your name??

The only valid point to have it at Murray is the local fisherman? That’s what I’ve concluded from reading this post over a couple times. The fishery is not a valid point.
Yes. It is a fact. Anderson wanted us anglers to come there. What’s wrong with that statement?
How did I interfere in a private conversation? Still yet to figure that one out.
Hi rick, I’m reel Dawg.

Shane they gave us the survey on what lake to use it was for input. Not a final decision.

Ok… Don’t want to properly introduce yourself to the rest of the class… That’s fine… Over it now …

Let’s take this in baby steps then, shall we…

What is the mission statement of the SBC?

Here, let me make it easy on you…

I think lawcrusher just mic dropped with that mission statement!

Wow!! I read this thread around this time last night and started to respond. However, I laid off due to the question being a potential powder keg… Good luck to all who are in it! I’m not fishing it, because I’ve never wet a hook on Hartwell but hope to do so in the future… A very entertaining read guys!

Xpress HB-22

It was not intended to be an indictment … and I intend to keep it that way … I’m sure we can all play nice in the sandbox so long as everyone keeps a level head and a sense of humor …

That said, I’m still waiting for a response … Oh wait … I failed to advance the discussion after answering my own question … My bad …

Okay, so … Remember way back when I discussed the charitable donations … Yeah … So if memory serves I asked how much was donated at the last Hartwell TX … I know for a fact our team personally donated over one ton of food in the name of the SBC at the Lake Murray TX …

So the question is this … Which tournament, based on portion one of the SBC mission statement, best fulfilled that propose?

Murray or Hartwell?

Striped Bass dudes acting like Largemouth dudes over tournamnets…

Guess I’m out of this too

Lawcrusher sounds like a bully. No idea what he’s talking about but wants to keep pushing buttons… Bring your weak talk to hartwell and put your money where your mouth is!! Your scared to leave Murray because you know you can’t catch Fish anywhere else. Catching fish at Murray is like swatting gnats in Aiken!!! BTW if you knew a 1/4 of what you were talking about you would know who I am!! This tournament doesn’t exist to rub the butts of the midlands striper club. Get over yourself!!!
The mission statement is for the non profit organization. Would you expect 200 boats to Fish, pay an entry, then buy raffle tickets without the payout? That money is what’s up. It’s great we as anglers give to charity but done fool yourself. That’s just another piece of the puzzle. Over $30 in cash!!! That’s the draw.

A rest stop somewhere between Easley and Laurens should be a good meeting place.

7csi tell you what. I’ll end this. My olive branch. Lawcrusher I have no idea who you are and the only reason I know your name is because someone you know reached out to me. I’ll take you fishing. Since you can’t leave Murray I’ll come down there. Is that fair?

How about I take both of you. I’m trying to learn this striper stuff.

7cs. I’m in.

Lawcrusher. Your right. The Murray tournament donated more money. Because people like you won’t drive 2 hours up the road to Fish. If we all didn’t drive into Columbia area to Fish I doubt the charity check would of been very big.
