Going trolling sunday for stripers on lake murray. We use herring but will shinners work as well? I have heard there easy to keep alive.

I was out on Friday and caught 5 with shiners. Did just as well
as everyone else. Shiners are pretty hardy bait. Forgot some in
the livewell and they were still alive the next evening. Good luck.
