Being a resident of Bonneau Beach, while taking the dogs on a golf cart ride down to the Black Oak Road boat landing, i gotta a chance to talk to a DNR fish tech, and watched him turn 50,000 baby strips into Lake Moultrie

I think it will get better. Last year striper were pretty hard to find on the rivers here in columbia. This year they are loaded with short fish from last years release of 1,000,000 fry. One guy said he caught 50 recently but only one above 19" with most being very small. It will take some time for these fish to get bigger. But we should see a population of keepers in a few years. It will be a while before we see 40+lb fish though.
SWEEEET…I didn’t see anything about the release… Anyone else?
Usually they “broadcast it”…
I sure hope it picks-up…
Guess we’ll see what happens this summer with the new size restriction and last years shortys…
I sure hope they went to Murray…Got fat and happy…and are heading back our way!!
Looks like they put in 2.5 million in Santee Cooper system this year and 2006. Last year they put in 2,850,000.
