Striper fishing report monday 3/2/15

Me and my boy decided to go try our new 40 gal. G&M bait tank out(and it is awesome). Started pulling boards around 9:30.Put one fish in the boat fishing in the middle of Q1 in the back of the neck. Left there went to the top right corner of Q1 and caught six from 11:30 to 12:30. Pulled for another hour nothing. The wind changed direction from w to ne. Fish went down to 20 ft couldn’t get them to hit nothing. Tried down rods and jigging. About 4:30 started back pulling boards in right corner of Q1. Picked up up 2 more and 2 shorts and a black bass. Had a wonderful time on the lake with my 13 year old son. Any day fishing is a better day than working.

Team Shad Up & Fish

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…

I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…

Years ago, I used to fish that neck all the time with success. Haven’t gone back up in there in a while. It’s good to know good fish can still be had there. Thanks for the report Richard!

A little off topic, but how do I get the club map? Is it something that I purchase separately from the membership?

-The size of a fish is directly proportional to the time between when it’s lost and the story is told. - Me
-What’s the best eating fish, you ask? I’ve found that for a lot people, its the ones that they happen to be able to catch, clean, and cook. - My Dad

-RIP my “Puppy Dog” 10/15/2004 - 1/14/2013. I’ll never forget him. What a special friend he was.

Should have got one with your membership. Fogman hooked us up the night we signed up.

Fogman, I need to get one of those club maps also if they’re still available. Never received one.

Speaking of maps, has anyone tried to put the grid lines on a full sized color map? I was thinking of trying it if I can figure out the scale. Seems like it would be beneficial to look at grid areas with more detail.
Just thinkin’.

Thanks for report - as a non-tournament fisher person - but one who fishes for the stripped ones - it is great to hear about success & where. When I originally joined the club that was common - it is not now - it seems all secretive and only about tournaments etc. So thank you for your posting! I miss the postings from, for example, “The Eliminator” who reported on his weekly Thursday fishing. Are their others willing to share their knowledge?

There are those who post a bunch … the winter time posts seem to slow down some … and most of the “reports” are posted on the Striper Forum rather than the club forum … We used to take lots of pictures while on the boat and the GoPro was an added bonus - until I fed it to a Barracuda in the Keys and now the darn thing won’t shut off … LOL … I’ll try to get back in the habit and I’m sure others will, too

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!
