I moved here 6 months ago from Boston and have yet to attempt striper fishing down here. Used to be the only thing to fish for in the salt up north but I’m sure it’s a little different in fresh water. Are there any places to fish from shore for these bad boys or is it a strictly boat fishery here? I appreciate your help guys.
It is pretty much a boat fishery, but you can sometimes get them from the public launch on the irmo side of the dam. I have seen them schooling near there several times. You can also fish the river from the shore, but I think that is done for the year. Our Murray striper will seem like bait to you.
