Are the Stripers in parts of the lake that is unusual for this time of the year? I just don’t remember fishing this close to the dam yet.
Not at all. Typically in April, the bite is spread from the Buzzard’s Roost and Little Saluda down to the face of the dam. During my spring break last week, I fished 4 days and had good outings in Ballentine, Bear, upper Rocky, and Hawleek. Get the pattern and you can catch them most anywhere right now. Normal April fishing.

Great! thanks for the information. Thanks to this site I knew to fish in this part of the lake. I probably would have never been fishing Ballentine/Bear right now.
