Anybody catching any striper on Murray? Has anybody had any luck trolling artificals? About to start going again next week, and can’t wait. There hasn’t been any Murray talk in a while.

i’ve not been out in a while. did some cutbait fishing a couple weeks ago, ended the short trip with 4 cats, a small striper, 20" largemouth.

most reports i’ve read/heard say to go midlake and pull freelines and planer boards with BIG bait.

I pulled a u-rig at 100’ back (probably 15’ depth) and a stretch 20 and a 1 oz. bucktail the other day for about 1.5 hours or so. Ended up with 1 shorty and thats it.

We marked some fish while screwing around northeast of dreher the other day in 40-50 feet but went back a couple days later when we actually had the gear on the boat and saw nothing.

Will be going in from Irmo side at dam in am 4-12. Gonna try and see if this cold front coming in will get the larger stripers to come on. Been catching a lot of short fish, just nothing to write home about. Bite should turn on very soon though.

Me and a friend took our boats out Thursday evening 4/11. Each boat brought in around 12 striper all but two were short fish. They hit consistent from 6:20pm-7:40pm. Again they were almost all short but none the less it was good to be back at it.

OK guys-this nut went out on Saturday come hell or high water, well, had both! Trolled some in bottom of lake with no luck-good thing Richard was at the dock. Caught short fish close to Spence’s point-moved up further to above sandy beach and started catching fish that were 21-22 inches. Ran back down some to close to where water treatment plant is in Ballentine and caught a few keepers (only barely). Moved again to “bad” side in big water,having to use two anchors to hold us. Started using cut bait in my money hole (no #'s though :dizzy_face:) and pulled in limit of 10-18lb fish. FINALLY left the water about 1:30 or 2 when the thunderbumpers started popping around. Anyway, there are fish of legal size that are starting to appear in mid-lower lake.
