Caught a total of 13 tonight. 9 were 24" and over (biggest 34"), 4 were 19-21 inches. My dad and I were throwing the 21-inchers back just to be on the safe side in case DNR happened to show up at the ramp.
We were trolling (9pm-1am) around the towers and almost all the way to the swim area. The water gets shallow (40ft) around that swim area so I tried not to get too close. At one point it got to 10ft. Needless to say, we had a couple of lines hit the bottom and get stuck. After some skillful boat driving we ended up getting all the lures/rigs back in the boat.
They were hitting U-Rigs and Stretch 25+'s all night. The 34" was 14lbs (verified with a scale) and hit a blue hologram Stretch 25+.
Not too bad for my second night of striper fishing. I’d better go buy a lottery ticket while I’ve got this horseshoe stuck up my @$$!!!
Does anyone have any good suggestions for cutting boards? The one I’ve got seems a little small…
