Have the stripers made their way into the saltwater yet in the cooper river? What depth should i be looking for to find them?
I haven’t heard about the salt, but a good friend of mine caught them schooling in the East Branch of the Cooper yesterday. Big fish, too, 4-13#.

Yeah, it’s been great. From Tuna, wahoo, and grouper to trout, reds, and largemouth. Give me a call and maybe we can get together for a trip. Keep up the articles and maybe I’ll have some wade fishing for you this spring.

Willy, can you see them when they school? Are they crashing bait on the surface or are you just casting until you find them?
i have many holes all along the cooper where i have found them before with the depthfinder.i go and check these places until i find them.i have been fishing the rivers here for them since i was a kid with my old man.they like spots with ambush points where they can lay in wait for a easy meal.look for anything in decent depth water where they can get out of the current.right now i would say put in at bushy and go towards the weapon station and look in that area.thats where i was and i can tell you for a fact they were there yesterday.you need a good depth finder and alot of patience.if you have either big finger mullet or get a big mullet and cut it up,this will work.you can also try deep diver plugs or any other number of deep diving lures that will work.read as much as you can on the riverene stripers.these fish are very unpredictable from day to day so good luck. willy ps i cant believe they arent farther down towards the shipyard yet!

Willy - were you paddling to these fish?
The less people know about how sausages and laws are made, the better they’ll sleep at night.
no jerms,i was fishing with a friend of mine who fishes with me every winter.one of my old mans old friends.he has a old bowrider with a 65hp johnson, but a very good fishfinder which is what you need for this fishing.
