I only know a few people on this Striper forum, and a few people that live near this area, but I have never been and I really wanna try my hand at some Stripers up there.
Fish for Stripers a lot in the Surf and the Boat in Jersey, but it’s a whole diff type of fishing, so with that being said…
I’m down in Charleston and would love to come up there. When is the best time to try, and who could I get in contact with to try to catch some?
thanks Triton! just been dying to get up there one of these days, maybe we could work out something as far as trading a day with each other on the boat. got some nice boats down here i have access too, so if anyone ever wants to go out down here, and might be able to take me out up there we can trade off
I don’t mind taking you out. I’m not the best at this winter fishing thing (know more about offshore) but I’ve been steadly catching fish, none keepers though. Trading a day here and there would be fun. I’ve never brought the boat down to Charleston, only Beaufort. Never had it offshore either (previous owner fished the SKA tournaments).
What timeframe were you looking to come up?

honesty any time frame is good. im very flexible. i have a 17’ whaler down here, but not the best boat, but its good for shallow creek fishing, nd i got a nice 17 sea hunt and 17 edgewater that can go out to the jetties on a nice day. so i can definitly trade fishing days with someone.
i just wanna catch fish. don’t care about keepers. i release everything i catch unless someone will use what i caught. so again, no biggie on what size, but bigger lures/bait means bighger fish lol!
i just wanna catch some stripers.
let me know when your interested in meeting up. how far is where u fish from charleston?
I’m pretty much the same way. Even if nothing I’m catching is legal, I’m still having a good time cause at least I’ve got SOMETHING to reel in. And if I don’t catch and fish, I usually try to catch a buzz. It’s a win win situation.
About 2 hours from Irmo to Charleston according to google maps.

we’ll be in touch
Sounds good. Every other friday I have off. I also have every Sat/Sun off. Just let me know when is good. I don’t mind going out in the early morning when it’s sub freezing temps out as long as it warms up during the day.

i’ll go out in any weather! back in jersey to go striper fishing, i had to help shovel and break snow/ice off a boat! -10 degrees out that day… brutal, but fun cuz we caught fish
I normally bring a thermos of coffee on board for in the mornings. That helps get ya going. I’m going to fish saturday and check out some new spots WAY up the lake that I’ve heard from a bunch of people. Hopefully I’ll have some luck with a couple keepers.

Be glad to take you out anytime too. I’ve got a boat that does well either in or offshore-so they tell me anyway!During the summer months we have the murray floatilla going at night-large times I tell ya! Sharky just hangs out on pier instead of with us-claims something about the scenery being better-go figure! Shoot me a im if interested.
hey triton; excuse me but the only salt that you have had on your boat is either pork skins or a spilled margarita. however; it does one big ass job on the lake. LOL LOL LOL
call me. we need to try and catch something. i just had my boat cleaned all up real good so it is time to mess it up.
