Stripers

The striper fishing is HOT right now. We went on a charter this past weekend and caught nothing but huge fish. Biggest a little over 40" that weighed in (6 hours after caught) at 37.5lbs. We went out of Virginia Beach (Rudee Inlet). Hit our limit around 1:30 and had to release one - we had two one at once at the last catch - and a few other times during the day. At one point we had three on at once.

Brad, what charter did you use and at what cost?

We went out on the Waverunner. Capt. Pat has three boats. I think we were on Waverunner III. Our Capt (not Pat) did a great job of locating the bait and putting us on the fish. Rate was $1275 for a full day.

Thanks Brad! How many guys can the boat handle? 6?

Yeah, 6. We had 5 because one guy had a last minute family issue.

Thanks again Brad! I found the Waverunner web site. The last time I fished up there we fished the CBTB. The size was 21 inch back then. I see the minimum is 28 inch now!

Everything we caught was well over the limits- no need to even measure. The stripers are huge there right now. They’re catching tons of trophy fish.
