That’s cool.
I caught several one afternoon just south of Winyah on the ICW only ones in saltwater ever in 30 years of fishing.

How many of you guys have caught them in saltwater ?

I guess these are the river populations like the ones that stocked Santee?

Happened upon this today:

About 5 years ago, I used to catch stripers off our dock on Folly River fairly regular in the fall months. Haven’t seen one in a few years.

Heck yeah there stripers out there you just gotta find’em!

There are some trophy fish that come up the Old Santee river in Georgetown.

What bait do you use?

Aj

yea i caught my first stripe in bushy ‘salt water’ side and was only 15 inches or so then later that day the guy with me caught one a lil over 9 lbs…one one finger mullet other on suspending jerk bait

Same as stump I got into a school of stripes in Bushy and it was a blast. After that I always keep a topwater plug at the ready.
