A pine stump will burn. Build a big fire around it and it will burn for a week in the ground. After it’s done burning all you have to do is fill in the hole.

Not a green one. And as wet as our soil is the only pine stump that may burn for a week would be a super fat lighter one and a week is a severe stretch.

Buddy from what I remember most tree stump grinders wanted at least 4-5 stumps to get a decent deal and they were getting $75 bucks. just remember if you have it dug a 3’ stump will leave a monster hole needing a good amount of fill dirt. Getting it ground usually only goes a few inches below soil level, which will leave you a nasty hole to fill in after a year or so of rotting.

You can do it yourself… Drill several 1/2" holes as deep as you can…the more, the better. Fill each hole with epsom salt sprinkle with water. Repeat the salt every couple of weeks, and in 6 months or so, it will be rotted enough to bust up with a sledge and cover.

That being said…Sunbelt rentals has a stump grinder for $125 a day. Fairly easy to run yourself

This is how I took care of an oak stump.
