Submarines

The topwater bite as of late has been ridiculous. Both trout and reds have been blowing up the surface chasing baits. Fished with a couple of buddies on Tues and Wed in the Wando. Fished the last hour and half of falling and the next two hours incoming both days. We were sight casting to reds on the bank where we saw their prominent wake and pushes. We had reds fighting each other to get to the plugs. Watching these redfish come up behind the baits like a submarine surfacing is beyond thrilling. Not to mention the clumsy yet violent attacks. Typical walk the dog action on the surface. The reds are definitely starting to school up and are hungry!!! After the topwater bite slowed, I switched to EyeStrike jig heads(pearl) coupled with Zman swimming trout trick(fried chicken) and they couldn’t resist. All fish caught in 2’ of water or less. Tagged all the fish and returned them to the water. Got some really good videos of the strikes and a couple of doubles.
