Had a short window to go out in the Broad river. High tide near the grass. Kept a couple for supper. Trout bite strong with many short, the three kept were full of row. Started loosing rigs and finally figured what it was. Spanish up near the grass. Wind was killer.
FRED ; ME THINKS STUMP AND SPLIT ARE CALLING YOU OUT ; GLAD TO SEE THE NICE CATCH , WOULD LOVE TO SEE HOW WIDE THEIR EYES GOT WITH YOUR POST:smiley: WHENS THE F-FRY ??
Split and Stump there was I time 15-20 years ago I’d go 5 times a week even rain. Got pretty good after a lot of scouting, experimenting, and learning tides. The only fish I was never consistent with is a Flounder. They guys that catch them regular with out gigging really impress me.
Now I’m content to just pleasure ride watching for dolphin and enjoying our low country’s beauty. About the same as deer hunting, I’d as soon let someone else pull the trigger… well almost.
Gail the larger trout was scaled and filleted while the smaller were fried whole, the Spot tail were filleted, and the Spanish was filleted removing all red meat. Hand cut some taters to join in with the Doctor disapproved fry. Fried foods have sadly been mostly removed from my diet.
