Suffix Superior Mono

I usually use Big Game or Ande on my baitcasters, but I have a couple of spools of Suffix 15 lb that they were giving away at the Poveromo offshore seminar downtown a couple months ago. I’ve never used it before.

Anyone have any experience with this line?

I have used it, and I’d say it is at least equivalent to Ande.

Since no one has piped up, I don’t have experience with the Superior but have Suffix Siege in 20 pound test on several of my reels. I’m well satisfied. They make a good line that’s very abrasion resistant and seems to me to have low memory. Tim, you should be well satisfied with that line. Hope this helps a little.

I’ve used Sufix Elite, it is a very good mono. Not sure about your specific version, but I can’t see it being bad at all. Sufix isn’t a low end brand IMO, every Sufix product I’ve bought has been quite good.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to try it and spooled up 6 rods with it just today.

You should be fine as long as it’s not old line. If you have a hard time with spool memory on it, soak your spools in warm tap water for a few hours and then let them air dry, should reset the line’s memory a bit more to the size of your reel’s spools.

I’ve been using Superior and Elite for the last two years along with some P-line. I like it - very similar to Ande which I used for ages. I have 15# & 17# in the Suffix and 20# P-line on a surf outfit. Been happy with both.
