I dont expect any “Secret Spots,” but I would like some advise on what is biting and any general areas that is producing now. I have not been deep since the mahi slowed down and I am taking out some business customers for a day trip. Does anyone recommend trolling vs. bottom fishing? Dont think they care what they catch. Thank you in advance for the tips and help.

Why not just read the reports from here, and that would pretty much answer your question.

He hasn’t posted a catch in awhile, so don’t worry about Cane Pole.

There was plenty of action at the 60 on Friday, small Kings and cudas for the most part but if youre looking for fun fish are there. Caught all my fish on ballyhoos (light wire duster rigs with an egg sinker wired in) as live bait was scarce on Friday. Saturday went to Commanche and caught several fish, a few cudas and a couple of Kings, one weighing 20.4lbs in the tourney on a pogie. The Pogies were in the channel just not as far up as we were looking on Friday. Thanks to Mo’Better II for the heads up on that one.
Cement (on chart) just inshore of Bill Perry is full of bait, spanish, cudas, amberjack, black sea bass etc…& imagaine a few kings
On Saturday 8/18 there was a good bottom bite in 95 feet of water a few miles east of the Edisto Offshore Reef in the area most people call “The Seven Mile Reef”. The sea bass we were catching were huge. Trolling is hit or miss this time of year because the heat has the fish so scattered. Dragging bait this time of year is “hero or zero”.

Insorefisher, just because I havent posted a fishing report on CF lately, doesnt mean I have’nt caught fish. Im not like some of theese folks who have to brag about everything they caught on all the fishing sites up and down the coast. I post reports ocasionally CW, the people I know and have fished with over the years. But I like to read this site as well at times, for the interesting stuff.
My reply was’nt a smart one to retired young, why not study before you take the test. Also he posted in the wrong forum. Did I bash him for that?
Looking from your prior post, you dont have much to add on fishing as well. Hummm lets see Big Cats/boiled peanuts/georgia hwys/puosu shirts/ac repair man/ places to crab/ and a at a boy to gotcha for the stripers. Good luck.
