Sullivans Island Classic

Fished this tournament. Finding bait in 4.5 footers on the beach was quite the challange. We finally found some and headed off to Shady Grady. Couldn’t get anything but sharks. Battled waves to get offshore found a blue/green color break on some incredible live bot. in 75 feet water. Managed to get one King. (Actually my wife caught it) Something did hit my double pogy rig and almost spooled my reel. Fought that fish but it went down and wrapped line on something. Might have been a reef donkey or big shark. Initial run was king like but that was all.
We managed to finish 7th overall, 3rd in lady and third in calcutta. Winning fish was 31.56 ours was 24.44. I highly recommend fishing any blue water promotions tourney, they have great prizes, raffles and good food!

Nice fish! the king fish were definitely scattered, a week earlier we loaded up on spanish and kings at the grady. Those guys do put on a good tourny, can’t wait til next year.

nice smoker. i bet it was a big cuda, ive had them make a huge run then sound to the bottom and wrap up or come straight to the boat.
