Completely forgot to post the pictures of my trip to Folly Beach from August 13-20th. I honestly experinced the best surf fishing of my life down there. I caught a ton of trout with the smallest being 14inchs and the largest around 20 inches and I caught a real nice red drum just what I wanted to catch. Also caught my first ladyfish some blues, kings, and fluke. Caught 90% of them on either live shrimp or mullet i caught either off my dock or at the beach. Sadly mid week after releasing the drum I had caught a sting ray which ended up stabbing me in my left forearm and basically went threw it. Spent the rest of vacation fishing on my back dock with one arm and not catching too much. Even with that happening it didnt bring me down at all I loved it down there and cant wait to come back. Oh and all fish proudly released. Hope you guys enjoy the pictures.
That one is gonna leave a mark.
That sucks, those things are nasty. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. Glad you got some quality fishing in.
Great stuff until the stingray incident! Glad you got on the fish!

Sounds like you had a great trip. Sorry to hear of the sing.

How did it get you?
Hope you weren’t wrestling it trying to get your hook back
Unless the hook is about to fall out of the ray’s mouth I always let the ray keep the hook.
Hot Stove!! Lesson learned. Too bad you didn’t get a picture of that “Fluke”. Just kidding…glad you had good fishing and please come back and enjoy our wonderful area again. That’s a nice picture with the Morris Island Lighthouse in the background.

Bascially it boiled down to me thinking I was hot stuff after the Drum cause I saw the hook barely in its mouth. I just zoned out or didnt pay attention to it and I popped the hook and and he stuck me. Figures the day I forget my pillers cause I would normally pull the barb out then flip the ray over and get the hook out. What happened happened and I dont really regret it I cant wait to come back down next summer and next year I will hopefully transfer to Cosatal Carolina to be right there.

too bad about keeping those trout this year.
stanotti, the last sentence read: Oh and all fish proudly released. Hope you guys enjoy the pictures. Although the trout and lady fish in the sand don’t look too healthy. Good post keep fishing.
