Been a minute since iv posted, but gone from college work to engineering internship work and only had time to squeeze out a few inshore trips with minimal luck.
This time Boat was in the shop so I lugged the kayak down to Jasons lake in Botany Bay, left mt p around 5am, and did pretty well for 2-3 hours, live mullet/zman minnowz, 2 decent trout and a few reds. Bite died entirely after 9am, but got my first red on the fly, which doesnt really count since its in a pond lol. But did have to work for it by stalking (theres some flats in that lake, believe it or not!), and he ate a shrimp imitation.
Not really this forums specialty, but also been spearing some decent sheeps at the jettys on an afternoon high tide, and cooking them on the halfshell, very plentiful and very tasty.
Also have heard some rumors of small tarpon in some brackish ponds in the west ashley/mt p area…would love to get one on the fly…have yet to find them, yall have any info on the topic??
