Sun 10/5 Bushy

Got out Sunday just before noon. Threw the net a few times from the docks and picked up a decent number of shrimp and a couple large mullet for cut bait to go with the mud minnows from the store. The wind was blowing pretty good, so I figured I would paddle to a nearby creek to make things easier on myself. About 50yrds from the landing I threw out a minnow on a jig head to drag along, and about 50yrds later I had the first trout in the yak (about 15"). Rebaited and continued to the creek. I stopped at the first bend out of the wind and fished a few lines. The shrimp on the float was the best. Two reds (about 15-16") on consecutive casts. Nothing for a little while, when I noticed the gator head about 20yrds behind the yak, time to move on. I went further up the creek, caught another dink trout, fed a few bluefish, saw a couple boats where I never seen them before. The last fish (red and trout) were picked up drifting with the wind back to the landing.

All in all, 5 boated fish in the keeper size category, all let go to be caught again, a few well fed bluefish, and some weird little fish I’ll have to post, because I don’t know what it was. Kind of “jack” looking, deep forked yellow tail, nice set of teeth?
