Heading out at 8ish if anyone wants to join. I finished up my anchor trolley and made a new stakeout pole out of a 6’ piece of conduit. I formed the bottom into a point, flattened the top, painted it purty, and added a SS shackle. Itching to try them out. After getting skunked last weekend, I’m staying out untill I have something to bring home(so the wife says). Hopefully I won’t have to spend the night out there:roll_eyes:

i’ll be out there tomorrow afternoon around 2ish myself. i’ll be in a tan yak with a red cooler.
Well, I finally got my feet wet at the 'Ville. Ya’ll wern’t kidding about no water in the creek at low tide[:0] I had the minner trap in the water for only ten min before it was full. I fished the creeks that HAD water with a MM on a jig and under a cork. 1 sm shark and a ray. So, i decided to explore and ended up running into TooBusy. Good to meet you, BTW. Once the wind picked up, and the water started coming onto the flats, I paddled in on about 3" of water. Once I staked out near a cluster of oysters, all hell broke loose for about an hour. I ended the day with 6 Reds. All of them over slot. The smallest at 25" and the biggest at 35". Also had 3 cut offs due to double hook ups. I was planning to take some choice pics, but managed only one of the first fish (30") and some scenery shots. It was surreal how quick the bite turned on and off. The anchor trolley in combo with the stakeout pole worked perfect in the wind. Again, nothing brought home but a sunburn, but I haven’t been in that situation (aggro bite) in quite a while. Now I know why it is named as it is:wink: A thank you goes out to everyone here who, at some point or another, contributed to a great day of 'yak fishing.

im looking forward to checking that place out… im not 100% sure i know the location of the launch site but i did check out a place off of Gasdon Rd (or something like that) that looked pretty good. When is the next meet-up?
Good meeting you GatorZ. I had to bug out before the water ever got into the sound, so I’m glad the fishing finally turned on yesterday. I found a nice pool way back in a creek with some oysters and a few flounder. caught 3 flatties, had 1 red break me off, called it a day and went home to the honey do list.
It’s an exciting place when the fishing turns on.

Who’s ready for a sleigh ride?
