rode out on a good ocean this sunday, went out to 80’. fishing was a little slow even though we had plenty of pins. capt lost a big scamp at the rail, cut floro, and got rocked up a few more times and lost the fish after cutting 80’ mono. landed a black grouper and a few short gags which got smart after releasing them and the bite turned off. lots of slab triggers! hit the water, 69deg, bottom viz at 70’.bottom was alive with keeper gags and a few good ars and triggers everywere. shot some nice gags, 15lbs. had some missed ques with a new dive partner or would have done a lot better. enjoyed his company & lookig forward to his next trip. (hopefully using Zack’s speargun next time) great ride in with capt. jimmy!
