Ran south with the rest of the fleet. Very slow fishing yesterday, had a sail in the spread early, but not hungry. Second sail crashed the flat line as my brother in law was letting it back, he only stayed on a few seconds though. We did land some nice dolphin and a king, but the grass was too scattered to hold any fish. Mystery bite was one of the first hits of the morning, black / garnet (I know) Islander on the port rigger WTFB, what ever it was hit hard, sounded, and stayed on until it cut the dacron on my wind-on leader, while I am certain it was a state record blue, I’ll have to settle for (maybe). Water was not bad, 77-78 deg., nice ride out, wind picked up with that thunder storm and never laid back down, a little bumpy on the way home, but still not bad.
