What is up with the wind and wave forecast? It must be that new math deal(take the forecast and divide by 4) 2ft at 10 seconds equal 4ft at 3 seconds. Our offshore bottom fishing trip was save by Tom’s BSB numbers in 60ft. We did not see a need in plowing out to 100ft, so we detoured to 60ft. We loaded up on BSB. We probably caught around 200 with no other species. I had a blast watching the fish bite the baits using Tricky’s color video camera. We did manage to drop on the C60 barge. We saw very little fish on the barge mainly spade and sheephead and I managed to shoot a midsize flounder and Daniel finished it off. We shot 4 large spades around 4-5lbs each and 2 sheephead in the 3lb range. The water on the bottom was a balmy 54 degrees and vis was at least 45 ft. I could see the barge coming down at 20ft. The Newman salvage company pulled up 4 anchors and a large downrigger ball.
Thanks to Tommy, Tricky, Tom, Brian, And Daniel for a great day on the big pond.
Gregg, First off thanks for yet another great trip even with adverse weather conditions. I had a blast. I’ll just know from now on when you call not to look at the forecast and expect adverse conditions and if it’s like swimming pool it’ll be a bonus! LOL I’m gonna be trying to hunt down a Speargun now you guys have got me hooked. Keep the PHone #.
P.S. Thinks you should upgrade and get radar and a big winch to put on your boat if we are going to continue salvage operations!
