I am interested to hear folk’s comments regarding the CCA. I have long considered joining but hear mixed reactions regarding the impact CCA has on the fishing community. I realize such an organization has a tough job balancing what is best for marine species and also what is best for fishermen. Let’s hear it folks.

I like the idea of conserving resources while still being able to use them, so the concept of CCA is great. What I don’t like is giving people a hard time for keeping their limit or taking a fish out of the water for a picture.

people have depended on the ocean for means of living for thousands of years. Now our government wants to make us depend on them. d freedom, i have always thought that being a part of an organization like that is better than being a part of nothing because at least they seem to try to do the right thing and keep the fishing good for all.

Prohibition occurred because a small interest group with the right connections wanted it so. Government repealed it when they worked out how much money the were missing out on in excise and taxes.

This isn’t any different except in the timeline it’s taking from restriction to commoditization.

Users who aren’t paying something directly into the coffers just become an afterthought at that stage.

Gone are the days of the rumrunner, maybe we will all become fillet flyers lol
