Left the inlet around 5am to a decent ride out. Ended up with lines in the water at 72 degrees. Picked up 2 gaffer mahi in between the 10 lb balls of weeds that needed to be constantly picked off the baits. Headed back in towards the ledge to try to get of the scattered weeds and found roughly 7 boats fishing a long weed line. Picked up 4 more gaffers and 1 slinger. Missed something big that broke off the 93lb wire leader.
Hopefully we will meet again.
Hopped in the water in hopes of spearing something under the weed line only to have a curious 3 ft shark bump my flipper. Didn’t land anything with the spear gun but will check my 6 o’clock a little more often from now on.
