Fished this past Sunday in the WIND!!!
Tried a few spots “out of the wind” (not really out of the wind) on the rising tide using live shrimp and jigs and got nothing too exciting. Went to a spot in NI as the tide changed and it was game on; Trout were hungry but mostly under the slot. Picked up some decent size blues and a few undersize flounder. Really had a blast catching the Trout. I was throwing jigs and my buddy was fishing live shrimp. I caught more because I wasn’t wasting time re-baiting after catching one or having my bait stolen. When they were in there, they were biting. I would have one pull off only to have another grab it as it dropped out the others mouth. Worth putting up with the WIND!!
Did I mention it was WINDY!!! One day I’ll get to see what it’s like to fish without the wind blowing my lure back in my face and beating the crap out of my boat, one day…
