Fished the flats opposite goldbug on Sunday. Hit the water about noon to fish the outgoing. Caught some bait and headed for the creeks. It started off slow with one dreaded oyster toadfish. Then things got exciting. My fishing partner was standing on the bank trying to net some more bait. His line was in the water and his rod in the holder of his beached kayak. Zing, drag starts ripping and rod goes airborne and into the drink. Whatever was on the other end was large. He learned a lesson the hard way. After a few laughs the bite started picking up. Started consistantly landing one redfish after another every 10 minutes or so. The fish weren’t large and ranged from about 13-20". I landed 4 and my fishing buddy caught one which helped ease the pain of losing a rig. The bite slowed and we headed in. It was a beautiful day on the water. And the fish were willing to come out and play
Nice! I lost a pole today when I took my wife pier fishing at the Mt P pier. First time pier fishing this year and I lost a brand new penn fierce combo!

I am dying to, just having trouble finding time. Fall has gotten so busy at work. What really sucks is that I have 20+ days of leave to take and am having a hard time finding days to get away. This Sunday may actually open up for me. Let me know if ya’ll are going somewhere Sunday.
