Pops came into town for the week and took him out on my favorite part of town again to fish for some Reds or whatever bites. He’s caught a few before already so either way it was going to be a nice day on the water. Little cloud coverage early. Low tide, fished with mullet. Water clarity was murky. First spot, tide was still HIGH, so we put out some bait and within about 15 minutes ziiiiiiiiiiiiiiing. But of course, the fish could not be turned before going into the pilings and the 30ln flouro broke. First one off. Fished that spit for another 30 mins and nothing. moved to another spot and nothing. Not even a hit. Wind was picking up and it was hard to keep lines tight. Tried to fish 3 other spots but they all had 1-2 boats at them. Back to my original spot, tide switched, within 5 mintues finally FISH ON. BI had one rod still out with bait that got snagged ont he bottom so I let it sit in the rod holder. While netting my dad’s fish, my spool on the snagged rod starts screaming. By the time I put the fish on the deck, the line stopped. Miss another! 30in nice Red. Snapped a few pics, gave him a minute to recoop and swam away nicely. Put out some more bait, and another screamer that popped on the hook tie. My fault. Pulled up anchor and headed to the beach. Nopt a bad day. Missed about 4 solid fish but brought one nice fish in the boat for my pops.
