Sunday 4/28 triple ledge

Fished Sunday with my son and 3 of his friends. Quote of the day from one of his friends the night before was “I am more excited than Christmas Eve”. Rough ride out of Port Royal sound, pounded south at a slow 24 to triple ledge with the promise of less breeze when compared to north. Trolled 6 ballyhoo on top and a plug on the way back and 2 DTX200’s deep off the corners. Zig zagged the ledge between 155-195 and stayed busy. Started with a King Mackerel, then mahi on a ballyhoo, then wahoo on the DTX200, then tuna on the plug, more mahi, more wahoo, more tuna. Finished with 2 wahoo, 2 tuna, 3 mahi, and the king. Released an AJ, got bit off by another Wahoo on mono rigged ballyhoo. Kids had a blast! Both wahoo we boated were on the DTX200’s - nice lures with the auto tune, makes them very easy to fish. Lost a wahoo off the gaff, was apologizing to the kids and then one said “its in the boat” … and there it was, sitting in the transom well. Did not see a single weed all day, no temp break, steady 72, just marked lots of bait. Nice ride at 36 back in.

Nice report. I heard you were out again on the 7th. same area.

Happy with the DTX200s? Have had their site bookmarked and have yet to pull the trigger…
