Left remleys point around 5:15 and headed straight out. Found the channel to be a little busy and confused only to find calm seas as we got further out. Found the soft edge within a mile of where it was supposed to be. Lines in around 7:30 in 220’ on a decent weedline that stretched for miles. Things started slow and then started picking at them as the morning progressed. The weedline broke up later as we continued offshore slightly at 600’ the flat has a bill taking swings at it… Jake does the dropback and its ON! Sailfish! Hunter did a great job on his first billfish and we gave it a good revival while taking plenty of photos and let him swim away lit up and healthy. It wasn’t the longest Sail I’ve seen but it was definitely the fattest. Lines back in as we trolled back toward the ledge, got one more nice fat bull. This was one absolutely beautiful day to be on the water with good friends and crew.
Shrimpbiscuit you better get out there soon…That was the first trip of the year on my boat. I feel like I have missed the majority of the season already. I hope I’m wrong but I expect things to start tapering off soon for the most part. Billfish bite will likely heat up a little
