Sunday 6/23

I have been reading posts to help me learn how to fish over the past year or two. Appreciate all of your helpful tips. I had such a fun day Sunday I finally registered to the forum. This is my first post.

Forecast was great, so I was gonna take my first trip to the ledge with my Uncle who was visiting for the weekend. We got about 20 miles out, saw some markings on the Garmin that looked good and decided to troll a little bit there.

10 minutes in we got a triple hook-up and landed a Little Tunnie and and a King Mackerel. Circled back a few times and within an hour or so we filled the cooler! Decided to save the ledge run for another day. Man was that fun!

And I will add that all you guys who are throwing back the Little Tunnies thinking they taste the same as Bonitos, keep throwing them back, but send me the coordinates where you left them because I have a huge batch of some of the best ceviche I have ever eaten.

Hope the photos post.

Where do you head out from?

Left out of Charleston Harbor at 8:30am.

Nice haul. Bet you were tired after fighting all those tuna. Strong little suckers!

Does your uncle by chance run a pawn shop in Las Vegas?

Next time you catch, and keep, any of the various tuna species, gut and bleed them as soon as they get in the boat and pack their gut w ice. THis will help cool them down form inside out and aid in making the flesh firmer and taste even better!
