Left Remleys at 6 against most people’s recommendation. Had slow going but made it out to Chas 60. Fished for about an hour. Had a decent Spanish on a jig just off the bottom. Caught some undersized bsb. Seas layed down some so ran to y73 and the Comanche. We were promptly greated by some monster reef donkeys and some of the biggest cuda I have ever seen. 1 of them had to be 6ft. Managed to catch some vermilion and actually get them to the boat. Lost more to toothy critters. Not a bad maiden voyage in less than ideal conditions. Cruised all the way back at about 30mph.
Yea it turned out to be a really nice day out there. We ended up with one wahoo and a Spanish, we ran to the ledge. Also went today for the eclipse, ended the day with three wahoo and two dolphin. 250’ of water.
That’s right. Forgot. Glad you guys ran out. Gonna have to run together sometime and double up. Make it easier to scout and see what’s working. Still have a lot to learn with the offshore thing.
Hey creek I have the NS 2012 with the 150 also and have been hesitant to take it that far off shore. I figure with the right conditions and all of the required safety gear it should not be too bad. What has been your fuel usage? With a 75 gallon tank I wondered if it is enough to get out there and back with enough left as a safety.
