Sunday 9/23

Fished with my buddy Austin and Larry this Sunday. Met Austin at his house on Ellis creek at 6:30 to go fishing. We were catching bait in Ellis creek and loading up on finger mullet and shrimp. Saw redfish crashing the bank farther up as well but we spooked em. Weirdest thing, twice in the net we caught over a dozen horse mullet in one throw all over 15". Weirdest thing. Went up a new creek and we caught 8 flounder and 2 rat reds. 2 guys wee wading it and tore up the flounder several doormats. After they left Larry was convinced we needed to head up the creek. So 150 yards, knee deep mud and several cuts later I walked the boat up the bend until it was deep enough to run the outboard. We saw a nice size redfish feeding on The bank in the creek. Cool sight! We ran all the way up Clark sound to a flat by Larry’s house. We saw 4 redfish on the flat and caught one at 15". Then we left and on the way back fished my go to spot. First cast a redfish spit my hook out. Then Austin caught a tournament winning fish. 22.75 inches and a fat guy, 5 pounds or so. Then Larry caught his personal beat at 29". Awesome day with cool people. Can’t wait until next time! The fishing is about to heat up, I can’t wait!
