With tons of fresh water and ripping tides we had to work for what we caught but ended the day with 5 reds, 3 flounder, and 2 sheeps. One of the sheepshead caught on a spinner bait!! Thought you guys would enjoy. 3 of the reds and all the flounder caught on the same lure.
A sheep on a spinnerbait ??? Now I’ve heard everything.
We thought it was a red, the guy with me was actually fishing for them with fiddlers and only caught one. I have only ever seen one before this caught on artificial before in person and only one other on TV. It was crazy we freaked when we saw what it was. I was just bumping down the rocks and he thumped it. One of those freak things that I would be shocked if it ever happened again. Not the biggest I have ever caught but I will remeber it forever.
sheepshead probably mistook that spinnerbait for a paper clip
I know this sounds silly, but do you retrieve those spinnerbaits like you do in freshwater?
