Went out for a few hrs late in the afternoon until sunset. Planned on pulling some freelines, but then realized I was out of O2 for the bait tank, so I just went looking for schools. Got a few on a jerk bait. They looked to be close, but no keepers.

seems the smaller fish have moved down to the lower lake also. the past month the couple of times i have made it out I have been catching 3 or 4 keepers to 1 short. Yesterday it was just the opposite. Ended with 3 keepers and 12 shorts. fished from around 12 till 4. all fish were on planer boards except one. I did notice though that fish seem to be sitting a little deeper in the water column. those may be the bigger fish i have been catching? who knows. Hope richard gets some bigger bait for this weekend though. One keeper did come off from his 2$ each herring. I just can’t keep alot of those alive nor afford a dozen of them…lol…how did everyone else do? The youngin had some fun so i guess thats all that matters…this fish took both planer off one side of the boat…lol…great hook placement though…
I went to crystal lake saturday morning with a buddy and our 4 year olds. With the early wind we went back in a cove and tried some bream fishing,only had one. Found some shorts under some birds the last hour. Only caught two before we had to leave. Went to the big water Saturday night. Wind was blowing pretty good out of the NE. Couldn’t find any fish in the usual spots so I headed to the towers at sunset. Caught one keeper and 4 shorts. 3 of the shorts came over by the beach late night. I could see a lot of activity up on the beach inside the keep out buoys. I was marking plenty of fish in the day and night, but they were not hitting. Pulled one of those giant herring around all night without a bite
